JEE Advanced Exam 2025 Paper 1 Analysis

Section 1 (Single Correct Multiple Choice Question): 4 questions, +3 for correct answer, -1 for incorrect, 0 for unattempted question.

Section 2 (Multiple Correct MCQ Questions): 3 questions, +4 for all correct, +3 if all four correct options but only three are chosen, +2 if three or more correct but only two are chosen, +1 if two or more correct but only one is chosen, 0 if unanswered, and -2 in all other cases

Section 3 (Numerical Answer Type): 6 questions, +4 for correct answer, no negative marking.

Section 4 : 4 questions, +4 for fully correct matches, -1 for any incorrect, 0 for unattempted.

This Paper Analysis covers both JEE Advanced Paper 1 and Paper 2. Last year, the Mathematics paper was difficult, while Physics and Chemistry papers were easier in both papers. This year too, the JEE Advanced Exam Paper shows a moderate difficulty level and remains easily attemptable for well-prepared students.

According to the students’ reaction, Overall, JEE Advanced Paper 1 was moderately difficult to solve. The most time consuming subject was Mathematics according to students. Though Physics and Chemistry were easy to solve comparatively to Mathematics. However, students felt that Mathematics paper was most time consuming.

JEE Advanced Paper 2 Analysis 2025

Overall, paper 2 of JEE Advanced Question paper 2025 was difficult. There was a twist in Paper 2. IIT Kanpur set the paper 2 level difficult in order to check the concepts of the students. The most challenging part of the paper was Mathematics. The paper was tricky, the conceptual based questions were lengthy which made it challenging for students to complete the paper on time.

Section 1(Single Correct Multiple Choice Question): 4 single-correct MCQs, +3 for correct response, -1 for incorrect.

Overall, student’s reaction for JEE Advanced Exam 2025 paper 2 was difficult. Even if we take last year’s paper of JEE Advanced it was not that tough, unlike this year’s.

Why Mathematics in JEE Advanced Paper 2 was toughest this year?

According to sources, the Mathematics paper in session 2 of JEE Advanced Exam 2025 was toughest. The real reason was that the questions were conceptual based and not formula based. Apparently this makes every question tricky, tough and lengthy. Only students who have performed at an advanced level for the Mathematics section were able to complete the paper. Critical thinking was the key to complete the Mathematics paper in session 2.

JEE Advanced Paper Analysis 2025 Subject-wise

According to our experts, in Paper 1, the Mathematics section proved to be moderately difficult. The Physics paper feels moderately difficult as well while Chemistry remains easy. The total paper is of 360 marks which makes it 180 marks each. General category candidates need to score 35% aggregate marks to qualify. OBC/EWS candidates must score 31.5%, and SC/ST candidates require only 17.5% to qualify. JEE Advanced Exam 2025 plays a crucial role for every aspirant, and the qualifying marks should be reviewed carefully to get the passing scores.
