  1. The NMC confirmed the addition of 43 new MBBS colleges across India to strengthen the healthcare education system across the country.

  3. The expansion of MBBS seats comprises government (central and state), deemed and private medical institutes.
  4. The NMC also announced an increase of 8,967 MBBS-UG seats across India to encourage NEET aspirants to take admission in Postgraduate courses.
  5. For the upcoming years, the government is planning to open 157 medical colleges in three phases with a total cost of ₹41,332.41 crore.
