CSAB Counselling 2023 Seat Allotment Result and Schedule

All about CSAB Counselling 2023 Seat Allotment Result and Schedule

The Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB) has declared the seat allocation result on 8th August. CSAB conducts special round counselling for the seats that are left vacant in JoSAA counselling.

In CSAB Counseling 2023, the approximate number of vacant seats are 11295, including those in NITs, IIITs and GFTIs.

Steps to do after a seat allocation in CSAB Counselling Round 1

To check your seat allocation status in CSAB Counselling 2023, visit csab.nic.in. If you are allocated a seat in the first round, you’ll have 5 options available- freeze, float, slide, surrender and withdraw.

Freeze, float, and slide options are the same as in JoSAA counselling. If you choose the Surrender option, you will lose the seat allocated in the first round of CSAB. However, in such a case, you will be eligible for participating in round 2 of CSAB Counseling 2023.

If you select the withdraw option, you will lose the allocated seat and no longer be eligible to participate in round 2 of CSAB Counselling 2023.

Procedure if The Candidate Accepts the Allocated Seat

If you are satisfied with the seat allocated to you and you wish to freeze it, you’ll have to do the online reporting process and seat acceptance fee payment. Also, you’ll have to upload the necessary documents asked for verification. The last date for online reporting is 12th August till 5 PM.

After completing the online reporting, you need to report to the allotted institute between the 14th and 21st of August.

The seat acceptance fee is ₹32000 for the General and OBC categories and ₹12000 for those who belong to SC and ST categories.

Last Chance For Those Who Want To Surrender Seats

If a candidate who got a seat in round 1 is unsatisfied with the allotted seat and wants to go for round 2 but doesn’t wish to lose the seat acceptance fee, he can choose the Surrender option.

In such a case, the fee will be refunded to the candidate, and it’s his/her wish to participate further in CSAB Counselling round 2.

However, if the candidate gets a seat in round 2 after surrendering his seat in round 1, he must accept the allotted seat and take admission. Else, the fee will be forfeited.

Notably, the candidates who got their documents verified in JoSAA counselling or any round of counselling in CSAB need not verify their documents again.
